About Our Hospital
Kindred Hospital Bay Area - Tampa is a 73-bed facility licensed by the state of Florida as an acute care hospital. The hospital is certified by Medicare and accredited by The Joint Commission.
The hospital provides specialized services 24 hours per day, seven days a week. Our primary service area is the Hillsborough, Polk, Pinellas, Orange, Hernando and Pasco County regions, although patients are often referred from outside the area. We work closely with these acute facilities, to assure that patients referred to our care are accommodated in an efficient and effective manner. Our patients are typically referred from the intensive care unit or step down units of the short-term acute care facilities. These medically complex patients may require life support (i.e., mechanical ventilation), advanced wound care and extensive IV therapy.
