    Visiting Hours

    We welcome visitors to Kindred Hospital Bay Area - Tampa. Visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patients can benefit from visits and we encourage you to visit frequently. We ask that visitors not call on patients until visiting hours begin, so our staff may complete patient personal care and assure patient needs are met.

    We request that visitors are 13 years old and above. However, accommodations can be made in special circumstances. Visitation for patients in the ICU will be structured around each patient’s care and condition. We encourage speaking with the nursing supervisor if you have special needs related to visitation.

    Cafeteria

    The hospital cafeteria is located to the left of the main entrance of the hospital. Continental breakfast is available Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. We provide a full-course lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. In addition, the parking lot entrance houses vending machines, which provide snacks and refreshments 24 hours a day.

    Parking/Security

    Free visitor parking is provided in a gated area 24 hours a day. While we strive to provide security for all areas of the hospital, we cannot be responsible for loss, damage, fire or theft of any vehicle parked on hospital property. Your safety and that of your family and other visitors is important to us. Hospital entrances are locked by 6 p.m.; please use the Coachman Avenue, or patio, entrance if visiting after 6 p.m.

    Smoking

    In an effort to promote a healthier environment for our patients and staff, we ask that visitors not smoke on hospital grounds.

    Concerns/Grievances

    Our goal is to ensure professional and caring assistance for all patients. If we fail to meet your needs, please report your concerns to the nursing supervisor or a member of the management staff. If your concern remains unresolved, then a formal grievance procedure may be initiated by contacting administration.

    Gifts and Gratuities

    Although employees are not permitted to accept gifts and gratuities, they certainly appreciate your kind words. You may compliment an employee by letter or phone call, or Rail-o-gram, our employee recognition form.

    Post-Hospital Care

    When your doctor determines that you no longer need the specialized services of our hospital but still require medical care, he or she may discharge you to a skilled nursing facility, a rehabilitation center, or to home care. Our case management department will help arrange for the services you may need after leaving the hospital.
